In order to achieve our goals, we are engaged in a series of initiatives to raise awareness of our cause.
Through our annual campaigns, people in Dogano and their families receive much needed help. Our most recent campaign was to build a reservoir and a filling station to allow community members to fill water jugs quickly and efficiently. Our mission was for people to have access to a reliable source of clean water. Prior to this project, the people of Dogono walked miles to a spring to gather water. Depending on the flow of the spring, it could take an excessive amount of time to collect the water they needed. This reservoir was implemented to divert some of the spring water into a tank so families can access it from a tap. This allows the stream to stay consistent and protects the water from contamination.
The construction of this water system was less than $4,000 but the impact on the community is immeasurable. Going forward Waljaalladhaa plans to offer more filling locations throughout the community.
